Leech Box

These are my go to patterns for trolling and stripping in fly line. I generally fish them with a type 1 flyline but also use the on my type 3 sinking as well. My preferred intermediate fly line is a Cortland Ecamo 555. These flys will produce results as I have been fishing these patterns for the last 10 years. They will perform well early spring through late fall on open water. All flies are tied on a size 10 Diiachi 2220 Streamer/bugger hook with the exception of the DFI. Use the darker colors when its sunny and the ligher ones on overcast days as well as early morning and late evenings. Dont be afraid to sink these flys deep before begining a retrieve as it is key to find the holding depth of the fish. Make sure to remember your countdown to put your fly back into the feeding zone after you catch your fish. Depending on availability of tying material sometimes we substuite a similiar material to tie our flies keeping the integrity of the pattern as close as possible to fullfill orders.
